Do you want to be in better shape? Join a Healthy Living Challenge!
After joining in and sharing in a healthy living challenge, guess what?
I got in a bit better shape, and I won...
A one-month premium membership to what looks like an amazing online fitness program - iBodyfit.com!
Here's why I'm so excited about it:
Last month I participated in a healthy living challenge over at Angie Newton's Losing It and Loving It blog. I've never participated in a healthy living or fitness challenge before.
*This* challenge was a great way to get my motivation going.
When I found her blog, what I found wasn't just a community of people wanting to lose excess pounds and/or excess body fat but also people who didn't want to be couch potatoes any longer and wanting to change their unhealthy eating habits - all through fitness and a healthier lifestyle.
I didn't share about it here because to be honest, I didn't know if I'd finish out the challenge.
For the past few months, I'd been remiss in keeping fit.
Life -- got in the way.
My oldest son had major surgery in May to correct severe Pectus Excavatum, (sunken or funnel chest). It was greatly affecting his health and his quality of life (his heart and lungs were severely compressed).
The surgery was a total success! I'll share more in a later post.
But, he's an up and coming volleyball superstar (stay-tuned
) and his life plan is derailed for a while -- but we're so grateful to his Thoracic surgeon because he's been given a new lease on life!
Back to the challenge.
Every week we'd check in and update what are goals for the upcoming week, and share at least one positive change we made during the previous week.
I only had one major slip-up: consuming almost an entire bag of my new favorite - Lay's Chile Limon Potato Chips one night when I was working into the wee-hours of the night (only meant to have a handful -- whoops!).
I completed the challenge and all and all was successful. It was a good way to stay motivated, and inspired.
I'd like to thank Angie for holding the healthy living challenge, and to iBodyfit.com for the cool prize. And, I'll definitely be sharing my thoughts about the online fitness program.
So what about you?
Have you participated in any challenges? If so, please share your outcomes? If not, what's holding you back?
